My mission is simple. I am an EGA member. EGA is the Embroidery Guild of America. A few months ago as I rode in the car with my mother I was asking about a Stitch-In that our group was planning while we were going past a billboard for Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

As a member in our group had just been diagnosed with breast cancer, I began to think.

From this the very first, EGA Stitch-A-Thon to benefit the Knoxville Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure will happen on October 18th, 2008. We will sit in West Town Mall for 11 hours and women from all ages will stitch to raise money for Susan G. Komen.

This has sort of been my baby since I thought of it...and as a result I have seen the enthusiasm of some wonderful women in our group behind me.
